PWA joins effort in the fight against HIV/AIDS

Nakimwero Rose aged 30 who lives in Kyewanula in Lyantonde Sub County appreciates LWF for welcoming her request to train as a counselor. Nakimwero lost her first husband who left her with three children, she later got married to another husband who also died and left her with two children, she was so confused and very hopeless until she decided to take an HIV test in 1997, unfortunately she tested HIV positive. She nearly ran mad and every one used to think that she was mentally disturbed; all hope was lost especially considering that she had five children to care for. Her biggest worry was the future of these children in case she died soon. Later on she met a counselor who comforted her and assured her that there was truly hope left for her, he also told her about the Philly Lutaya initiative (a group of people living positively) In 2001 she joined the Philly Lutaya initiative where she learnt the true value of positive living, she gained boldness, and started going public giving testimonies and raising HIV/AIDS awareness to other people.
