THE LWF DRAMA CLUB

The LWF drama club began in 2000 with the main purpose of disseminating HIV/AIDS information to the community and to rekindle lost hope among the orphans who constitute majority of the drama group members. They carry out such activities upon invitation and utilize opportunities that involve HIV awareness like health outreaches.

The LWF Drama Group
disseminate HIV / AIDS
information.

Through music and drama, students have been able to teach the community about the HIV/AIDS scourge, the need for abstinence, faithfulness to one partner and the use of condoms. This has contributed to the reduction in the prevalence rate in Rakai district. These drama clubs have offered so much empowerment to the students especially in their social life at school and to other people beyond the confines of the school. Students have also acquired self esteem because they have to face crowds of people while presenting. The impact they have made in the communities has given them self worth and a reason to live. This confidence is very essential for such youths who will become future leaders In addition, the drama presentations are lively, pleasing and informative so they have restored lost hope among these orphaned students who have been through terrible experiences that left them vulnerable, lonely and hopeless.
